May 2 - Tuesday
This afternoon I went to the ANC and the gang was there. Nacho told me about his Nasucbu adventures and Charlie A has got the shortest crew cut ever! At 5 pm we had a meeting with Mr. Duchstein at the party room about the Fashion Show. We went to the pool and there he showed us where we would walk and everything. Later Bill suggested we organize the party again and tomorrow at 10 am we will have a meeting to organize everything. The people who were at the ANC today were, Nena, Nacho, Jose Luis, Arno, Tom, Lita, Conchita, Marina, Cindy, Bill, Angela, Margie, Walter, Pete, Charlie, etc. The boys are going to participate in the fashion show but of course only as “decoration.” I do hope we can get the party underway and I wish by some miracle Charlie doesn’t leave for the States until after the party. He and Bill are the most and so is Nacho. Went to Bingo and D’Marks this evening.
May 3 - Wednesday
I went to the ANC this morning with Margie. Vita B was there. We had the meeting in the Teen Den on the subject of the party. Besides the usual people, Luis Pertierra was there. He has very nice eyes. Vita is a little possessive of Nacho but otherwise a nice girl. If Nacho likes her, well...Ate lunch at home then went back to the ANC. Cindy, Marina and Nena were already there. Cindy knows I have a crush on Bill and heaven knows how?! (Could I have been this clueless? How about the “how” being my own big mouth.) I’m not that obvious, or am I?! The whole gang was there in the afternoon and Pete and Tom joined us. Bill came later and as usual I got a little confused with Cindy and Nena’s mischievous smiles...
May 4 - Thursday
I’ve spent the whole day at the ANC today. I got there this morning and Nacho was there and we sat in the Sunset Lounge and talked. Then Marina, Conchita, and Lita joined us. I played tennis this afternoon and I’m improving. Nacho, Marina and I ate lunch together then we went to a movie - Gaiety - “The Last Rebel” Carlos Garcia, Linggoy, and Juaco were there. Went back to the ANC - the gang was there and Cindy showed us her new shoes that she’s going to wear on Saturday for this ball she’s going to. Bill was kidding around with me in the pool and then later he started teasing and everything had a wonderful time. Nacho was very attentive to me today and he told me he might drop Vita but I know better. At least he likes me and I like him and how I wish Vita would leave the scene or something. Mercy was there too and Carlos and Gonzalo Lanuza.

- I was born in a Japanese concentration camp in Los Baños, Laguna in 1944 and raised in Manila. I spent my grade school years in Maryknoll College and high school years at St. Paul's College of Manila. I spent most of my summer leisure time at the Army Navy Club of Manila. I married a nice American man in 1965 and moved to New York. In 1969, I left New York for Barcelona and lived there 8 years. I returned to the States in 1977 and lived there until 2011. I visit Manila and Barcelona as often as I can. I have a lovely daughter and granddaughter.My father, Hal Bowie, died in Manila in 1974, and my mother, who moved back to Barcelona after his death, died in 1995. I retired from Polytechnic University (now NYU-Poly)in 2011 after 27 years! After moving to Florida I returned to NY after 8 years and now am living again in my first home in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn.
