March 4 - 8, 1961

Mar 4 - Saturday


I spent a very nice day. When I woke up I thought it would rain but the saints in Purgatory fixed that. It was a beautiful-blue-sky-and-sunny-day. I went swimming and even though Nacho was there I wet my hair and I didn’t give a hoot if I looked awful. Speaking of Nacho, when he came in I didn’t even look at him and couldn’t have cared less and seemingly vice-versa. When I got dressed I sat at the table where Nacho, Nena, Maribel and Marina were sitting and we didn’t even say hello but when once our eyes met he looked at me so strangely. Maribel, Lita, Tita Mariane and I went shopping for a bathing suit this pm. I finally bought a lovely Jansen bathing suit.



Mar 5 - Sunday

I went swimming this am in my new bathing suit and boy have I got a sunburn. Lita, Maricar, Maribel, Conchita were at the ANC. Arno was there too. I ate lunch there with them and then Nena, Maribel and I went to the Gaiety to see “Oceans 11" with Frank Sinatra, Peter Lawford, Dean Martin, etc. Mercy and Margie were there too and I didn’t notice them until after Nena told me. After the movie we went back to the ANC. Arno, Nacho were there. I was surprised to see him (Arno). He’s NEVER there on Sunday. Nacho was his old self again. Once I caught him looking at me and we just looked at each other for 4 seconds! It was very disturbing. We had a nice time sitting there at the swimming pool. Nena, Maribel, Nacho, Arno and I laughing, etc. Marina and her sister brought me home. When I later called Mercy she said she saw Cosme, Mari, etc were at the movie and I didn’t even see them. Oh I am so mad......



Mar 6 - Monday

Marina is so crazy over Nacho she now has his picture in her wallet and she fairly breathes Nacho...I passed all tests so far in my prelims except Health. I got 64%..eeeek! Today I wasn’t even listening in Biology and when we had a quiz after the lesson I got 100%. Boy, que chamba! One year ago today Mari Valles asked Mercy to go steady...I’ve just heard the song “El Paso” over the radio and boy doesn’t it bring back memories though I’m not sure of whom - Butch, Cosme? Or just last summer? Nena’s birthday is on Wednesday, the 8th. She’ll be 18!



Mar 7 - Tuesday

Sister asked me to be an usherette on Graduation Night for the seniors. I have 5 themes missing and 4 book reports and I have to finish them before Friday. I only hope my pen and hand holds out before I pass out. This pm I went to the ANC to some research work on some old ????? for Biology class in the ANC library. I finished my interview with Honey finally. I only hope its accepted by The Paulinian - please!!



Mar 8 - Wednesday - (Nena Marti and Carlos Garcia’s birthdays)

This afternoon I skipped school. I slept for 3 hours or so. Mercy and I chatted over the phone. She tells me the all astounding news that Vicky Aboitiz and that walking dreamboat Carlos Garcia broke. Wow! I simply can’t imagine that real dippy guy walking around unattached but what difference does that make?! I might as well be Dracula before he would even glance at me. Danny Jose came this pm to get his Falcons badge. Went to practice today. Tita Maitos etc say I do Pichi very well, at least! Honey gets handsomer every day.
