January 14 - 17, 1961

Jan. 14 - Saturday
Mercy and I went to the ANC this morning. Marina, Inger, Conchita, Lita and Kenneth were there. Remy is selling the dippiest electric blue bathing suit you ever saw but I don’t think I’ll be able to get it. It cost 30 bucks. It fit me like a million dollars, though a little tight. Inger left today for Switzerland. She wasn’t very happy to go. This afternoon I left Mercy in Margie’s house and then I went back to the ANC. Conchita and Lita were there also Cris Carreon. Elsie Gadol was there - ugh. Imagine the nerve of her calling me a child! I stayed in Conchita’s house from 6 to 9:30 PM. Daddy was in a bad mood tonight. (Mercy had lunch with me and Nena had a date at the ANC).
Jan. 15 - Sunday
I went to Mass at the Ermita Church at 11 AM and then Mom and Dad dropped me off at the ANC. Conchita, Marina and Margot Garcia were there. Also Kenneth! I don’t know why but I can’t look at that guy straight in the face. Oh, horsefeathers! (I had the most romantic dream about Arno and me last night, really zoweeeee!) I ate in Conchita’s house this noon. Conchita is a very nice person if you get to know her well. Nena called me up to ask if her new love was at the ANC. This evening I went to see Mercy and Mercy’s program which was ok. Saw the Sans triplets. Victor is so nice! I caught him looking at me. I wonder why I get attracted to boys a little younger than me? I guess the older boys are too high and mighty to notice little ‘ol me.
Jan. 16 - Monday
I’ve been having the most colorful dreams lately. First one of Nacho, and then Arno and then last night I dreamt I went to Hong Kong and Alaska! The scenery in my dreams was very much like the ones I saw in the movie "Ice Palace." In color too! I was late this am for school and cranky Sister Eustasia gave me a -1 in Religion. I didn’t have a hard time in my Biology test. I’m up to my neck in themes and book reports. Phew! I was supposed to go to the Anti-TB practice this evening but somebody goofed. Gosh, its chilly these days and yet so pleasant. January is a beautiful month. But everything is so dull. I’m also very sleepy, Good night.
Jan. 17 - Tuesday
I got 77% in my Math exam this morning. At least I got higher than Marina who got only 74%. She was pretty mad. I did just awful in my exam in Economics! I DID NOT STUDY. I went to the ANC this afternoon with Daddy. The girls at the accommodations counter said FABIAN was there at 2 PM this afternoon and he talked with them. I saw him on TV and he is the dippiest! He’s 17 and he’s a Catholic. What more could I want?! I wish I could get to meet him before he leaves. I can dream can’t I? I went to Anti-TB practice this evening. The boys were as flat as pancakes singing. Honey was there, not that it made any difference to me??!! I ate dinner with Daddy. Mom went to Bingo.
